Things to do while in High Falls


1.     Spring Farm.

The Mohonk Preserve is an area close to High Falls that offers an array of outdoor activities that ranges from rigorous climbing and bouldering routes to scenic hiking trails.

The preserve is sectioned into four separate areas, and the directions to each differ. Specifically, “Spring Farms” is the section of the preserve that is closest to the wedding location.

To best plan a trip, you should visit the website www.mohonkpreserve.org. Information can be found regarding hours (9am to 5pm) and fees, which range from $12 (for hikers) and $17 (for climbers and bikers).

2.     Bonticou Crag Trail

The Bonticou Crag trail, is a strenuous hike for the more adventurous. The loop hike follows a difficult rock scramble to the top of the crag, with expansive views over the surrounding area.

3.     Rosendale Mountain Biking

The town of Rosendale, NY offers striking mountain biking trails. Definitely worth a visit for the enthusiasts.

To get to Rosendale from the wedding location in High Falls:

·      You start out going southwest on Lucas Turnpike toward RT-213. 
·      Take the first left onto RT-213 (Morning Brew café is on the corner, if you reach Beach Ln you’ve gone about 1.2 miles too far)
·      The destination is just past Hardenburgh Ln. If you reach Snyder Ave you’ve gone a little too far.

4.     Zip Lining in Windham

Windham is a ski resort town, within an hour away from the wedding location. The town offers zip lining, hiking, biking and horseback riding. The address to the resort is 33 Clarence D Lane Rd, Windham, NY 12496.


5.     New Paltz Chamber of Commerce
